Last Picnic of the Summer?

Could it be that Labor Day weekend is here already? Traditionally, the last picnic of the summer, signifying an end of the summer; one last long weekend of fun. Maybe for you it signifies 'laboring', as you begin shutting down the lake house.

Whatever your focus this weekend, we at LAKEVIEW want to remind you that our broasted chicken goes well whether as a sit-down meal in our restaurant lakeviewresortlakepoinsett.com or as a TO GO quiet lunch, or as the main dish at a potluck feeding a hungry bunch just getting off the pontoon.  Purchase it as a dinner (with a choice of potato and soup or salad) or by the piece.  Call for the reasonable prices.

Some have asked about the name. It's not fried chicken, so what is broasting? Broasting combines a special marinating process with high pressure cooking and deep frying to increase the moisture in the chicken. The Broaster company boasts, "Not only does it taste better, but...fewer calories, less fat, lower carbs," and chicken breasts can have as much as 44% more moisture than other cooking methods. Finally they challenge, "You be the judge!"

We ask that you please plan ahead when placing your broasted chicken order.  Your chicken will always be fresh, not cooked ahead and kept warming.  But with fresh comes cooking time that must be taken into account whether ordering, 'in house' or calling ahead for an order 'to go'.

Enjoy these last days of summer and take time to squeeze in an old-fashioned picnic for an unforgettable memory of the summer of 2012.
